THE COMPLETE ROOF, CONSIDERED
Garden rooms. More space, carefully constructed.
Timber construction and a considered roof system for a garden room that starts with how you want to use it.
Begin with the space you need
A garden room starts with a purpose. Tell Harry how you would like to use the space, the approximate size you have in mind and what is already in the garden.
The construction and roof should be considered together. Structure, insulation, ventilation and the exterior finish all influence the proposal, rather than being choices made independently.
A carpentry-led approach
Roof Construction Systems brings timber and roof construction experience to the conversation. The scope may relate to the structure and roofing elements or a wider build, depending on what is agreed for your project.
Be clear about any additional requirements, such as electrical work, heating, internal finishes or landscaping. Do not assume these are included unless they are specifically confirmed in the proposal.
Look at the site as well as the design
Access for materials, the condition of the site and the relationship to existing buildings or boundaries are useful starting points. Include photographs and basic dimensions if you have them.
The base, structural approach and roof build-up need to suit the actual project. A photograph of another building can communicate a style, but it is not a construction specification for your site.
Comfort and weather protection
If the space is intended for regular use, discuss that from the beginning. Insulation and ventilation decisions need to reflect the intended use and overall construction.
You can read more about the principles behind warm and cold roof systems before discussing the appropriate detail with Harry.
What happens next?
Send your postcode, a description of the intended use, approximate dimensions and any drawings. Before work begins, the scope and any necessary approvals should be checked for your individual project. This website does not confirm planning or building-control requirements for a particular garden room.
A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS BEFORE YOU GET STARTED
Ask Harry.
Have a question about your own roof?
Ask Harry ↗
Is every part of the garden room included?
Only the scope agreed in the proposal is included. Ask specifically about the base, structure, roof, insulation, finishes and any electrical or other specialist work.
Do I need drawings before getting in touch?
No. You can start with your intended use, approximate size, postcode and photographs. Harry can discuss what further information is needed.
