THE COMPLETE ROOF, CONSIDERED
Fascias, soffits & guttering. Finished properly.
Fascias, soffits and guttering that are planned as part of the roof, with attention to ventilation, edges and rainwater.
Where the roof meets the outside world
The roofline is a working part of the building, not just a finishing trim. Fascias form the visible edge, soffits close the underside of the overhang, and guttering helps direct rainwater towards the drainage route.
When considering replacement or new roofline work, it is important to look at how those parts relate to the roof covering and the supporting timber behind them.
Existing condition comes first
A damaged or tired visible board may be only part of the work. The underlying timber, fixings and roof-edge details need to be considered before the scope is agreed.
Tell Harry about any overflow, visible sagging, staining or deterioration. Photographs from ground level are useful; please do not climb a ladder just to gather pictures for an enquiry.
Ventilation and water management
The proposed soffit detail should be consistent with the roof’s ventilation strategy. Gutter arrangement, connections and discharge points also need to be understood rather than treated as isolated replacements.
If roofline work is being carried out alongside pitched roofing or flat roofing, discuss the combined scope so the interfaces can be considered together.
A finish that suits the building
Colour, profile and materials should be agreed as part of the proposal. Share photographs of the existing roofline and let Harry know whether you want to retain the current appearance or discuss a different finish.
The practicalities of access also matter. Mention extensions, conservatories, narrow passages or shared access that could affect how the roof edge is reached.
Discuss your roofline work
Roof Construction Systems covers Swindon and Wiltshire. Send your postcode and explain whether the enquiry concerns guttering, fascia and soffit work, or the whole roof edge.
A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS BEFORE YOU GET STARTED
Ask Harry.
Have a question about your own roof?
Ask Harry ↗
Can roofline work be part of a larger roofing job?
Yes. Explain the complete project so the roof covering, ventilation and roof-edge details can be discussed together.
Can you price the work from a photo?
Photos are useful for an initial conversation, but access, measurements and the condition behind visible components can affect the scope and price.
